Comic books kept me going I grew up on comic books. My dad and step dad were drunken wife beaters. I used to hide in my bed room while they beat up on my mother. I also read comics while I was in the tavern's parking lot all alone in a car while my step dad and mother were drinking indoors. After my step dad and mom were divorced I still continued to read comic books. Just like movies, they took me into a fantasy world loaded with adventure, action and fascination apart from the real world which seems stupid to me.
